With funding from the European Union, An-Najah National University, Al-Quds University, and Birzeit University are working to develop two MA programs: one in Criminal Law at An Najah and Al Quds universities and one in Financial and Economic Law at Birzeit University.
The three universities set the project in motion last August and work will continue for three years, within which the universities will prepare, launch, and finalize the programs mentioned above.
The project aims to attract interested local members of the legal community, such as judges, public prosecutors, lawyers, and other decision makers that are interested in reforming law in Palestine. Additionally, the partner universities aim to develop and support legal education in Palestine in order to provide the local society with qualified people who are able to contribute to improving and developing the legal system in Palestine in the fields of criminal law and economic and financial law.
The Steering Committee held its first meeting to proceed with the project on Thursday 14/11/2013 with the participation of EU representatives and a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education as well as the deans of the faculties of law in the three partner universities in order to announce the launch of the project.
